Shaun Taylor Bevins

SHAUN TAYLOR BEVINS graduated from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Sciences and a Professional Masters in Physical Therapy. Immersed in the health sciences, she didn't seriously pursue her writing aspirations until after the birth of her fourth child. Since then, her creative fiction, photography, and fitness articles have appeared in print and online. The first 2000 words of her children's chapter book Beatrice Beasley won first place in the annual Seven Hills Literary Contest sponsored by the Tallahassee Writers Association and appears in the 2013 Seven Hills Review. Finally, Shaun's short story "I Will Survive" will appear in Chesapeake Crimes: Homicidal Holidays,--scheduled for release in the fall of 2014, and her short story "The Blizzard" will appear in Chesapeake Crimes: Storm Warning--scheduled for release in the Spring of 2016.

Shaun is currently a member of the Chesapeake Chapter of Sisters in Crime and the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators.

A resident of the Eastern Shore of Maryland, when she's not writing, homeschooling, working as a physical therapist/fitness consultant, or contributing to her website, Fitness for Smart People, she teaches a W.I.T.S. personal training certification course.

She is our site's webmaster. She also is honored to have her digital photography featured in the site's header.

Shaun's love for writing is only surpassed by her love for reading. A fan of many genres, she posts her reviews on her blog and goodreads. She is also a volunteer reader for Black Fox Literary Magazine.

Finally, Shaun is now a reader for NetGalley, so look for her reviews of upcoming titles.

quotes Shaun likes

"If this is going to be a Christian nation that doesn't help the poor, either we have to pretend that Jesus was just as selfish as we are, or we've got to acknowledge that He commanded us to love the poor and serve the needy without condition and then admit that we just don't want to do it."— Stephen Colbert
