Welcome...

The Broadneck Writers’ Workshop in Annapolis, Maryland was formed in July 2008 by two novelists and an essayist sharing a pot of tea. Since then, our ranks have quadrupled to include several award-winning authors, and our members have published one novel, two memoirs, a chapbook, and countless short stories, essays, poems, critiques and informative articles in print and online. We write about fantastical worlds and true-life adventures, the theater and business, food and fitness, family relations, murder, mysteries and talking urinal cakes. To learn more about the members of BWW or sample their work, please visit our main members' page.

Our mission is three-fold:

  • to provide criticism in a supportive, honest, and helpful manner
  • to receive criticism in order to improve and gain new insights into our stories
  • to provide a community that encourages our writing lives, through social and emotional support, publication and contest leads, and networking.

The BWW occasionally recruits new members as needed. If you are an accomplished writer living in the Annapolis area, and are free on Tuesday afternoons, please use the contact form below to contact us.
